1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Miraku ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Miraku is a Japanese language learning platform that provides:

  • Interactive kanji etymology timelines and vocabulary lessons
  • Historical forms tracing kanji evolution to the present
  • Spaced Repetition System (SRS) for optimal retention
  • Progress tracking and analytics
  • Quiz and practice modes

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and update your account information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your password and identification
  • Accept all responsibility for activities that occur under your account

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Upload or transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

All content on the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and the compilation thereof, is the property of Miraku or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

6. Subscription and Payment

Currently, Miraku is available free of charge. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, we will provide clear notice and obtain your consent before charging any fees.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your information.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

You may terminate your account at any time by following the account deletion process outlined in our Data Deletion Instructions.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIRAKU SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
